When Zakeea reached out to me on instagram to book her Franklin, TN engagement photos, I was so excited. As a fellow photographer, I knew shooting with her and her fiance Cole would be a blast, and I was right!
The location was gorgeous. A family friend’s farm was the perfect backdrop for their outdoor engagement session. We took a side by side up the mountain and the views were beautiful! We shot in the tall grass with the fall trees behind them.
A cold front had just come in, so it was much colder than we were expecting. It was honestly freezing and SO windy! But these two were naturals and total troopers. Zakeea ended up switching her outfit last minute because of the weather, from a tank dress to this beautiful brown one. Luckily, we were able to use the cold to our advantage. I loved catching the wind in Zakeea’s hair and having them wrap up in each other. At the end of the shoot, I had Z + C put on their coats for a second vibe.
I love getting different angles of couples walking for interesting candid shots. Shooting from the side is such a little change but can make all the difference in the result! Other little tricks I used for Zakeea + Cole’s photos were things like cropping in interesting ways and zooming in on their hands. Little details make the biggest difference!
As the weather gets colder, you may think you can’t get those beautiful outdoor engagement photos you’ve been wanting. But that’s not true! Zakeea + Cole’s engagement session proves that you can get stunning results even when you’re outside for fall or even winter engagement photos!
